Leading with Values: Reenergize Your Work

Have you ever had a situation at work that totally exhausted or completely frustrated you?

Feeling demoralized at work may stem from a deeper issue — your core values might not be aligned with the situation at hand.

Recently, I worked with a client who was exhausted by a work challenge. After some reflection, we discovered that her underlying values weren’t being honored, which led to her frustration.

Once she was able to tap into what her values were and which ones weren’t being honored in this scenario, she felt so much more energized by how to approach it,

She was able to present a new argument to her manager that aligned with her values, and those of her team, but also achieved the same end goals.

The result? A renewed sense of energy and a solution that resonated with the entire team.

So the next time you’re feeling completely either demoralized or de-energized by something, start thinking about what values of yours aren’t being honored. When your values guide your decisions, you not only feel more inspired, but you’re also able to find solutions that are more meaningful and effective.
